Paul Cope, Alex Dipple, and Christopher Newson are three artists based in the east Suffolk area. All three hail from vastly different backgrounds. The work is not linked, either by subject matter, or approach, and yet the energy created by the juxtaposition of these diverse works is undeniable.

Paul Cope's work bristles with colour and decoration. Rings, dots, and lines jostle for place, over mass produced images. Stylish monoprints that look like retro fabric samples, intricate line drawings, and his pattern obsessed paintings are just the tip of an eclectic archive of works from a life working with materials.

Alex Dipple's work has a parasitic edge. Fixated with the 2D work of Allen Jones, she takes Modern and Contemporary sculpture as her subject matter, approaching it like academic cast drawing. She works in oils and gouache, combining sensitive drawing skills with bold colour work. Faces, Legs and Arms combine in surprising ways.

Chris Newson's Studio/Gallery/Home in Leiston is a magical place, a total work, that enables Newson to live, paint, frame, and ultimately sell paintings from the same location. This daily, circular, transaction maps the artist's life like a performance. In parts dark and raw, in others serene, Newson's work connects with audiences.
