Inside Worlds, Outside Worlds - Delving Deeper

Following the success of her popular evening course, Barbara is offering a deeper
delve into working with acrylic paints. Moving between your inner world and the
natural world around you, we will be taking inspiration from the Minories’ beautiful garden, letting the outside world feed and stimulate the inside world of memory, feelings and imagination.

We’ll draw inspiration from the way a garden holds both wildness and structure: we’ll explore the play of light, the colours and textures, the structures — and find ways to fuse these explorations with our internal landscape through sketches and drawings, culminating in a painting.

No particular experience is needed, and no particular style is expected. Whether
you’re picking up a brush for the first time, returning to painting after a break, or in need of an injection of playful experimentation, these two days are yours to explore at your own pace, with gentle guidance and plenty of time to play.

You’ll leave with work you’ve made, new ways of seeing, and — we hope — a
renewed sense of what’s possible when you give yourself a whole day (and then
another) just to make.

Two whole days to slow down, look closely, paint and ponder.
