Join us at our Long Wyre Street Pop-up on Sunday 21 May from 10.30 - 13.30 for a complementary workshop to our upcoming 'Odes to the Ocean' performances.

Artists Shane Waltener, Cydnei B and Catherine Shrubshall will be leading a workshop for adults over the age of 16 exploring knit, knot and netting techniques as well as singing work songs and sea shanties.

The repetitive nature of textile making, whether working on nets or lace, is inherently musical. With this in mind participants will be introduced to knitting, knotting and netting techniques, working individually and in formation, while also being given an opportunity to practice singing work songs and sea shanties to keep them in the pattern during their making.

Work produced during the workshop will be added to the set and/or used as props for the performances of Odes to the Ocean.
