Hilde’s first solo exhibition presents paintings of abstracted female figures in ambiguous landscapes. She uses her canvas to document separation, grief and fierce hope in bold gestures, sweeping lines and vibrant colours. The works are a visual diary from a four-month period in 2026, sourced from her sketchbook/journal. Each image began as a doodle, in a routine of intuitive writing and drawing and is the result of Hilde’s inclination to find faces and characters in random marks.“I want to show what events feel like right when they happen. In any given moment, there are so many invisible emotions and sensations. Experiences, conversations, and feelings linger in our minds and bodies long after they pass. For me, meditative writing and drawing act like a camera, capturing what is truly happening through colour, shape and movement.”By blending abstraction and figuration Hilde provides just enough form to anchor the eye and recognise the main players. These paintings celebrate the human instinct to find meaning in chaos and detect patterns in shifting forms.“My aim is to show the complex, layered nature of life, free from the constraints of words, rules, or structures. I show the parts of the body that feel the most active in a moment: a mouth on a face, shoulder blades turned into shields, or the feeling of free-falling on weak legs. My work is an honest reflection of reality, a specific moment, place, and age, flavoured by everything that came before.”
