The Colchester Art Society was formed in 1946 for the promotion of the visual arts by a group of artists based in the Colchester School of Art.
Amongst the earliest members were John Nash, Cedric Morris, Arthur Lett-Haines, Henry Collins and Roderic Barrett. The Society has maintained a lively programme of exhibitions and other activities for over 70 years.
This exhibition features a range of works from the society's collection, including works by John Addyman, Simon Carter, Peter Coker, Henry Collins, Hugh Cronyn, Andrew Dodds, James Dodds, Michael Fletcher, Valerie Irwin, Jane Lewis, Joyce Pallot, Bryan Whiteley, David Wood and Nat Young
This exhibition is upstairs at the Minories, which is accessed by a staircase with no lift access at this time.
